You’ve talked for hours, recorded it, and are now ready to send your screen recording, but all you hear are crickets?

Yes, you forgot to turn on the screen record with audio. Here is how to quickly do it while you still have the energy to go through it again:

Step 1: Set Up Your Device for Recording

Check if your device is properly configured to capture both screen and audio and that your mic is working and ON. Do a quick mic test if not sure.

For Mac

Mac users can easily start recording with two clicks:

  1. Click the command + 5
  2. Click on “Options
  3. Enable microphone
  4. Click the button on the top right corner to stop recording.

For Windows

For a Windows 10 computer, use the built-in Game Bar feature to record your screen with audio.

  1. To access the Game Bar, press the Windows key + G on your keyboard
  2. If prompted, check the box that says "Yes, this is a game" to enable the Game Bar for the current application.
  3. Once the Game Bar is open, click on the "Start Recording" button to begin capturing your screen.
  4. Click on the "Settings" icon in the Game Bar, then navigate to the "Capturing" tab.

For iPhone

  1. Open the Control Center by swiping down from the top-right corner of your screen (on iPhone X or later) or by swiping up from the bottom of your screen (on iPhone 8 or earlier).
  2. Click the Screen Recording icon, which looks like a circle with a dot inside.
  3. To enable audio recording, press and hold the Screen Recording icon, then tap the Microphone Audio button to turn it on.

For Chromebook

For Chromebook users, screen recording with audio is possible using the built-in screen capture tool.

  1. Press Shift + Ctrl + Show Windows (the key with a rectangle and two vertical lines).
  2. In the screen capture menu, select "Screen record" and choose whether to record the full screen or a specific window.
  3. To include audio in your recording, click on the gear icon in the screen capture toolbar and make sure that the "Record microphone" option is enabled.
